Sports in School
Sports in school are very important. They give the athletic students a way to use their talents and teaches them many important virtues they can use throughout their lives, and gives the rest of the student body a team to cheer for, something to be part of, pride in their school, and activities to be involved in. There are many ways for a non-athletic student to be involved in sports in school besides being a player. Students and are needed to be statisticians, runners, equipment managers, and concession stand workers, to name a few. Sports in school can be lifetime sports, such as swimming, bowling, and baseball, or sports mostly played into middle adulthood such as football, track, and rugby. Cheerleading is a part of sports that use to have only female participation, but cheerleaders nowadays can be male or female, and usually need to possess some tumbling abilities.
Sports in schools help to keep the student body united and help
create school pride. The students usually know their school fight
song, and also sing the National Anthem at the beginning of each
sporting event. Sports in school for give the opportunity for the
school's marching band to participate in school sports, which
involves many students who are not able or wanting to play school
sports. Kids need something to be part of to grow up healthy, and
to help them stay out of trouble. Sports in school provide the
structure, supervision, and opportunities many kids need. Sports in
school can make the difference in which direction a student goes in
life. Coaches have an enormous influence on their players, and
hopefully, only good, hard-working, honest, fair, trustworthy,
people who have the welfare and best interest of the kids at heart,
and who can earn the respect of the kids, will be hired as
coaches.
